Wendy Wan-ting Wang

Wendy Wan-ting Wang works on Modern Chinese and Japanese literature and media cultures, with special focuses on Republican China and Japanese colonial Taiwan. She received her BA and MA in National Chengchi University, and published her MA project on women's magazines in Taiwan (1920s-1940s) titled The cosmopolitan, the folklore and the empire: a postcolonial reading of Taiwan Fujinkai (Taipei: Huamulan, 2018). She is interested in the intersection of literature and photography, and the technologies of inscription in relation to colonial trauma and wartime memory. She is currently working on a project about colonial photography and the emergence of indigeneity of Taiwan.
