Kijoo Ko earned a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) in 1997, specializing in bilingual language processing. From 1999 to 2001, she served as a senior lecturer, teaching Elementary and Advanced Korean at the University of Chicago. In 2002, she joined UC Berkeley, where she has taught Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced, 4th-year, and 5th-year Korean, as well as Media Korean and Business Korean. Her research interests encompass bilingual language organization, second language acquisition, teaching Korean as a foreign language, and language learning & technology (LLT).
