Hsin-hung (Sean) Yeh
Chinese/Taiwanese Program
Hsin-hung (Sean) Yeh is currently an Associate Teaching Professor of Chinese at Santa Clara University. Originally from Taiwan, he moved to the U.S. in 2010 and has since been teaching Mandarin Chinese in different institutions, including five years at Harvard University and ongoing work at Middlebury Chinese Summer School since 2014. After finishing his Ph.D. studies at Stanford University, he has been dedicating his research to Chinese/Sinophone linguistics, sociolinguistics (language ideology and language attitude), L2 Chinese pedagogy, language proficiency assessment, and DEIA in L2 classrooms. He is also certified as an Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) tester and Writing Proficiency Test (WPT) rater by ACTFL. He is looking forward to teaching Taiwanese at UC Berkeley and hopes to develop high-leverage teaching practices of L2 Taiwanese for the Taiwanese program.
