Chinese Placement Exam Essay Instructions

Write a Chinese essay on your own that includes:

1. Introducing your hobbies.
2. Explaining why you want to learn Chinese.
3. Narrating an unforgettable happening in your life.
4. What you would do if you had to learn something that does not interest you. 
5. Explaining the connection between your major and learning Chinese.

Please note:
1. The essay must contain at least 400 characters.
2. You can use a dictionary. You can write words you don’t know in Pinyin or Bopomofo. 
3. Handwriting is required.

Please bring a printout of your essay to the interview.
