Linda Zhang

Chinese Program

Linda C. Zhang is a Ph.D. candidate in East Asian Languages and Cultures at UC Berkeley. Her research pursues questions of medium, space, and technology related to experimental cinema, documentary, and animated film. Her current project, focusing on the early socialist period in China, examines how media such as animated films, scientific education films, and documentaries work in in a myriad of ways to mediate anxieties about modernity while also projecting an optimism about a technologically-powered future.
