Xiaoyu Xia 夏小雨 specializes in late imperial and modern Chinese literature, with additional interest in film, media, and modern Japanese studies. She received her B.A. and M.A. in Chinese literature from Fudan University. Her dissertation Revolution Between the Lines: Literature, Typography, and Modern Chinese Book Culture (1895-1937) seeks to tell a new story about the Chinese literary revolution by foregrounding its material condition of possibility: the modern Chinese book. Aside from book history, she is interested in poetics, linguistics, media technology, and translation.
