Buddhism Minor

Language Training

 
 
  • Chinese 10B, Japanese 10B, or equivalent. (Other relevant Asian languages may be substituted with advisor approval.)*
 
     
 

Upper Division (minimum of 5 letter-graded courses and 20 units; minimum gpa of 2.0)

 
 

All courses require advisor approval and must include:

 
 
  • Three courses in Buddhist Studies.
  • Two "electives" selected from Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Tibetan, EA Lang courses, or Buddhist Studies courses from other departments.
  • Buddhism 50 may be substituted for one of the five courses.
  • EAP course(s) may be used to satisfy one of the electives; however, not all EAP courses will be approved for the minor. Please check with the advisor in advance.
 
     
  * Please note that students with previous language experience will be required to take a placement exam with Department language co-ordinators.
