Jiaqian received her B.A. in Comparative Literature and Chinese Language and Literature with a minor in History of Art in 2018 from UC Berkeley. She currently works on the expression of self, interiority, and the interior in modern Japanese literature, with an emphasis on the relationship between literature and architecture. Her other interests include relational aesthetics, fin-de-siècle Vienna and epigraphy. Outside of academia, she specializes in the practice of Chinese calligraphy, Guzheng, painting, Guqin and ballet.
