Menghsin Cindy Horng

Menghsin is completing her PhD in Chinese with a Designated Emphasis in Film Studies with a dissertation that explores asynchrony, audible archives, and cinematic sound design in Mandarin language cinema, focusing on 1960s/70s Taiwan and Hong Kong. This builds on her Master's thesis, “Domestic Dislocations: Healthy Realism, Stardom, and the Cinematic Projection of Home in Postwar Taiwan,” which was also completed at Berkeley. She holds an MLIS from San Jose State University and a BA from the University of Michigan.
